Everything happens for a reason. Previously, I had started a business with great potential with some business partners. Sadly, without my vote, they decided to sell. Everything that I had been working for, all those long hours, days, months, years—gone. I didn’t really have a voice and vowed that I would not let that happen again.
After that, I was not sure what to do, where to funnel my passion. So, although I was disappointed, I got right back out there figuring out how I could put my love of helping others to use!
It was not long after that I became a licensed REALTOR®. Changing industries completely may seem like a big jump. Already having spent five years in the leasing industry, I decided, why the heck not? I studied, got my license, and jumped in with both feet. For some, it can be a scary transition to become an entrepreneur and set out on your own to forge your own path (and it was), but for me, failure was not an option. As a mentor once told me, “There is no such thing as rejection – just redirection!” And redirect, I did.
The more I learned about the industry, the more I loved it. Real estate is like twenty different jobs all at once, with all the hats you must wear to get things done at the end of the day, and that made it the perfect fit for me. What I realized after losing out on my previous dream was that everything in this life happens for a reason. Without that experience, I never would have been able to push past all the roadblocks and become a REALTOR® (and there were a lot). I am a solution seeker. When one problem arose, I found a solution to address it. Never stopping. Never slowing down. I knew I could do it and this time I did it on my own terms.
I am now one of the top agents at our brokerage. And in 2021 started my own team to expand the ability to service our clients.
I have been a licensed REALTOR® since 2016. When I am not working, I enjoy backpacking, DJing, mountain biking, and spending time with my partner, Scott. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is negotiating to get my clients what they want and help make their dreams a reality!
The spirit of service has been an integral part of my life beginning with early lessons learned while in the Boy Scouts, where community service was a major tenet. That focus continued through my career in law enforcement and eventually transitioning to the American Red Cross, where I became CEO of the Nevada Region and COO of supporting seven states. I've always believed in giving back. Service wasn't just a way for me to contribute; it was my means of connecting with others. Through service, I have been fortunate to experience many incredible things and connect with extraordinary people.
Upon concluding my Red Cross career, I ventured into consulting before a pivotal moment arose. John's business was flourishing, and the need for additional support became evident. I saw an opportunity to leverage my skills. With John's encouragement, I decided to obtain my real estate license.
Our decision to work together wasn't without its challenges. Transitioning into real estate just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic added an extra layer of uncertainty. Yet, as a team, we navigated uncharted waters, not only adjusting to working together but also thriving in an unpredictable market. We learned to lean on one another’s strengths, delivering an even more comprehensive experience for our clients. My background in law enforcement and working for the Red Cross have equipped me with the skills to identify problems, investigate solutions and determine the best course of action that benefits our clients.
That feeling of helping others has been a driving force my entire life. It continues to motivate me every day; whether I am helping a client, working with a charity or teaching courses at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am always looking for new ways to serve my community as the efforts provide great fulfillment in my life.
